I have tested this for the best part of a decade and the honest answer has changed over time. I ran an iPad Pro as my only computer for development, compared a Microsoft Surface Pro against it, built my own tablet operating system on a Surface Go with Debian and i3, and then abandoned that experiment and went back to iPad and Mac.
