Why did you stop wearing a smartwatch after nine years?
Answer
Because the phone got so strong and the sensor so good that the screen in between became redundant. In May I made a tally of what an Apple Watch actually is: three MagSafe chargers, a USB charger, eight bands, two power pedals, two speed and two cadence sensors, eighteen units plus the Watch, and 45 percent of the battery gone after one night. One evening in June I put it on for the last time. What I do want is data about my body, and one sensor without a screen records that 24/7 with two weeks of battery. On my wrist is a mechanical watch again. It takes high tech to make low tech work, and the best screen is no screen.
