Summary
Yes. When I used the reMarkable in 2021 its display recreated paper so faithfully that the technology faded into the background: the device became just my book or my writing. For focused reading and sketching it was a strong option.

The box greets you with the slogan 'Better paper, Better thinking', and the display delivers on it: the recreation of paper feels real to your eyes and fingers, and the thin, lightweight body matches it. After a short while something odd happened. I stopped thinking of it as an electronic tablet; the technology faded into the background and the thing became just my book or just my writing. That device-less character means it combines without awkwardness with other devices. The minimalist in me happily used it next to my iPad. Sketching helped me iterate ideas: outline, think, fill in the details, then digitally copy, archive or share the result. Its focus on one task sets it apart from tablets that try to do everything. That will not please everybody, but if you value focus, it works.
