The M99 DY PRO from the German maker Supernova is the newest model I chose for my dynamo powered road bike. It has a matrix of 11 LEDs and control electronics that add a high beam function, producing up to 1,000 lumens and 200 lux, which is what you want in complete darkness. I paired it with the Supernova E3 Tail Light 2, a 6V rear light that works in tandem with the headlight. Both lights have capacitors that keep them lit for a while after you stop, so you stay visible at traffic lights when the dynamo is no longer turning. I had earlier good experience with Supernova E3 Pro 2 lights on my commuter bike, which is why I went back to the brand.
