Can a website keep itself up to date without staff?

Answer

Yes, I have three years of sites doing it, but zero staff is not zero work. Scheduling shows and hides content on a given moment, feeds pull in what you already post elsewhere, and an agent summarises, translates and publishes every night through a static site generator. A news site built this way reached second place in Google with nobody logging in. The work did not disappear: it moved from writing to reading, from publishing to judging, and from daily to weekly. The rule I keep: the moment a site needs me every day, I have hired myself.
